Scripture: Matthew 8:10 When Jesus heard it, he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.
Observation: When someone takes a look at your life, your actions and your attitudes... will they see your faith? This roman soldier had a faith the even Jesus marveled at... and Jesus made sure to point it out to others...
Application: I want my life to be filled and overflowing with faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. I want others to stop and wonder at the amazing way God works in my life... I want them to marvel... The scary part of this, is that I know faith grows through trials. But if God sees the potential in my life to make me into a vessel willing to pour out His praises, than I will count myself blessed beyond measure. This soldier was no one special. His name is not mentioned, and he never comes up again... But he had a faith in Jesus worth taking note of. If no one ever knows my name or anything about me... I want them to know that I had faith in my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, Thank you for the times in Your word when a 'certain' person is mentioned. Thank you for the nameless servants who were used by You to teach great lessons and accomplish Your perfect will. Please Lord, let my life be one filled with faith and songs of Your glory. Use my life as You see fit. I love You, and I can imagine no greater honor than to be used in Your perfect plan. In Jesus name, Amen.
